Your continuing defense of ACORN, and their fraudulent activities, is very telling. Anything for the cause, 'eh Comrade

This is because of the two videos of ACORN employees helping set up prostitution business that have been aired recently. The videos were made by an activist and a friend (she posed as a prostitute, he, a pimp), and ACORN employees telling them how to set up their business and obtain housing (and it involved bringing in underage females from El Salvidor) with out raising suspicion, and how to file a bogus tax return.

Only Fox covered this story. Are we surprised?
Hardly.

The balance of the 51-member board justifiably voted to oust them not just from the board, but from membership in the organization as well. They are now bitter outsiders seeking retribution. Their complaints do not go to program issues, but are over what they still see as governance issues, even though that same board has also voted the supposedly villainous Rathke's out. Through it all, ACORN continues to provide important services to low-income communities across the country. Hundreds of thousands of eligible voters have been registered. Hundreds of thousands have been made aware of and been able to exercise their housing and workplace rights and to access various rights and benefits that they are entitled to. Untold numbers of banks, landlords, and employers have been compelled to comply with laws they would rather have simply ignored. That's what ACORN does. That's what the loud-mouths oppose. Because the majority of those ACORN helps tends to vote for Democrats. That is the real and only issue for the right.
This sting operation implied that if these two employees were comfortable talking about illegal schemes, such everyday corruption might be common, maybe winked at higher up.

Any operation like ACORN has got to be twice as clean to be half as credible since they're uppity black people first, Democrat supporters second.

I didnt know that about the ACORN-8 women; how disillusioning. The dangerous part is going to come when control of it is weakened. It could easily be lost to folks with the opposite agenda.

What from among these lies and fantasies will you claim to hold water? The entire right-wing conspiracy against ACORN is one big fabricated and distorted hit piece. What ACORN actually does is work to protect the rights and interests of low- and moderate-income Americans, including such things as encouraging them to register and vote.

While I absolutely do not condone the actions of the two ex-ACORN staffers who perpetuated this scandal, and I fully understand why the Census Bureau has broken its arangement with ACORN regarding the 2010 census, I would like to point out these little, somewhat insignificant but relevant, tidbits:

Quote:
UPDATE: A Commerce Department official clarifies that ACORN didn't have a contract with the Census Bureau, but merely an arrangement -- like other civic groups -- to promote and publicize it.

UPDATE: ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring says the group is "deeply troubled" by the actions of the "two ex-employees" caught on tape, but says eight other ACORN offices turned the faux pimp away.

The FBI and CIA seem to think otherwise as they are investigating them for fraud.

I was just trying to point out, in a non partisan way, that sometimes a name cannot shake the reputation it's gained..either good or bad.
