First, there is no reason to believe ONE person, a leftist at that, and his interpretation of where the people were. How utterly ridiculous.
But, if we did, according to the schematic (roll your mouse over that first red dot) there were a couple hundred thousand there.
Not according to Fox News:
"The tens of thousands of protesters marched to the U.S. Capitol chanting various slogans and waving posters that voiced a rather broad array of grievances against big government and the leaders, particularly President Obama, who the protesters blame for its size and scope."

i addressed the schematic in another post. density is a major factor. the 240k number is for a totally packed crowd.
do you have a source that says the protesters were further out than 4th street? preferably one that doesn't include a photo of the promise keepers march labeled as being from yesterday?
How is comparing the crowd size to a baseball or football game any sort of reasonable comparison? Those are organized events at a very central location with a central theme on entertainment. Many, many people went to a protest that lacked restroom facilities as well as concession stands and weren't entertained by overpaid celebrities (although it's the free market so if stupid people want to line up for such an event, by all means).
Context, my dear, context. There were five or six blocks worth of marchers, plus some who may have just skipped the march part. There was a crowd at the Capitol -- not so densely packed -- that extended to 3rd Street and a bit beyond, plus some who may have skipped the speeches part. No matter how pure-partisans try to slice it, that's not an historic number of people by any means. That IS perhaps 3% of the crowd that attended the inauguration on a bitter cold day last January. That IS less than what a Redskins game will draw, it IS less than what a Papal Mass at Nats Park drew, and it IS less than what the annual 4th of July fireworks draw. Yesterday's crowds were not enough to tax the ordinary capacity of the Metro system. The event was what it was. It was neither more or less than that.
According to the Park Service schematic, the one they used for obama's inauguration, there were a couple hundred thousands there. Undeniable.
as i already said, this is completely deniable, depending on the density of the crowd. i seriously doubt a protest crowd is ever as tightly packed as a crowd who's there solely to listen to a speech.
