You know, 25 million people visit The Mall every year for no reason at all aside from the fact that they want to see it. If you threw out the half of the year when DC has just plain crappy weather so nobody comes, that would be an average of about 137,000 per day. The Tea Party people maybe got half of that...at the very outside. Kind of puts some context to it, wouldn't you say...

Oh, yes there was. Siouxcia posted it. See below.
I'm guessing that some of the people here are upset that more people weren't in attendance, perhaps even beating themselves up for not making the effort for the cause?

NPR is almost as useful as The Simpsons with regards to news coverage.

I go back to my earlier statement that if it was a failure we would not be discussing it here with over 36 pages of posts. Does Obama know about the rally ? - yes. Does he care ? - probably not

The purpose of a rally is to bring a problem or discontent to peoples attention. That has been accomplished.

The crowd was within the red line after the march down Pennsylvania and once they'd gathered at the Capitol.

Default Tea Party folks wastin their time

I guess someone needs to tell the tea party supporters and Obama bashers that the election is over. All of the polictical cryin and name callin dont mean squat now. They had their say when it counted before the election, What they say now dont mean more than a plate of chitterings LOL

Okay. May I ask a question? And get some thoughtful answers to it?

Why is it that Obama supporters feel they need to minimize the turn out at the rally today?

And why is it that it wouldn't "count" if 10,000 Americans showed up, rather than 100,000 or 1 M?

It wasn't a fund raiser . . . I guess I could understand that folks would be so focused on how many people showed up if they wanted estimates on how much $$$ was made. But it wasn't a fundraiser! So why does it seem that DEMs are all strung out trying to "prove" that this rally was a failure by minimizing the head count? And further - if it is of no importance - why are they simply not doing what I do when I feel something is of no importance - and IGNORE THE WHOLE THING?

And that's a sad thing when it doesn't matter what thousands or millions have to say.
