Just because people are dumb enough to bbelieve it doesn't make it the truth.
Fox is not truth, it has no credibility
They even went to court to prove they are liars

That's what I saw too.

I am independent, but I lost all respect for FOX after the words of Murdoch himself when he admitted he used FOX to mislead people so they would support the invasion of Iraq. And after that they have been caught doctoring video and audio many times, so that doesn't help their image either. And then of course we have Glenn Beck who takes credit for everything under the sun and declaring that US would not be a republic anymore without FOX and his reporting. How could anyone take them seriously? Not that I take CNN for gospel either. I do not watch MSNBC at all.

I think that all media today is sensationalistic reporting. No matter what, facts are boring. So, while every media outlet adds color to a dismal business, I would like to see a non-partisan group such as academia give a scorecard on who is "most" and "least" factual in their sensation.

IMHO if media were given grades for their reporting I would rate the local paper about C and everything else but the Weather Channel a C- to F(for Fox).

I don't know how old many of you are, but the whole "Fox" outrage thing is funny from where I sit. It seems that many feel that Fox is somehow different than any other channel in their "reporting". It is, but only because of its right-leaning bias and not because of bias itself. I grew up in a world where there was only the "big three". They were always leftist sympathizers and promoters. Normal people simply had to take what they heard from them and extrapolate the "truth" knowing the leftist bias of the source. Basically, many simply had to believe the opposite of what they were told.

Somewhere along the way, many people assumed that because the three networks produced the same propaganda they were somehow "truthful" or "unbiased". The foolishness of this assessment has never failed to amuse me. I know that this is difficult for some, but ANY source of information has bias, not only in what it deems as "news-worthy" but also in how it evalutates that news from their particular viewpoint. There is not now, nor will there ever be, an objective news source. If you believe in such a thing, you are allowing yourself to be manipulated and will never get anywhere even remotely close to the "truth". (This goes for all sources of information: television, news papers, "scholarly articles", etc.)

The funny thing about the Fox outrage is that they are no different than the CBS, Communist Broadcasting Network, except in their particular viewpoint. Those who abhor the Fox viewpoint simply are seeing for the first time what conservatives have been experiencing since television news began.

I think that the best you could do, if you want to get any value from commercial news, is watch Fox and CBS, take notes, find the midpoint between their stories, and start your own investigation from there. If you must get your information from television, remember Couric is the same as Beck. Don't be fooled by their "presentations", every news source has an agenda.

Real "truth" is only found by observing as much as possible and drawing logical conclusions.

2008 Pre-election coverage:

Fox News

Positive stories about John McCain: 40%
Positive stories about Barrack Obama: 40%

Show me where Fox is a "propaganda tool of the Republican party."
