i agree with hawkeye completely. knives don't kill people, guns don't kill people, people kill people. I believe that every person in America has the right to bear arms for self defense. My opinion on fully automatic weapons is a different matter because there is no need for that except during times of war. Wether people want to believe it or not, america is at war with itself. We are going to destroy ourselves regardless of wether or not people have guns. So if someone wants to walk the streets of south central LA carrying a fully automatic AR-15 gas powered assualt rifle, be my guest. Because in those neighborhoods it is every person for themselves. Its kill or be killed in our own country wether people want to realize it or not. TAKE CARE OF TERRORISM IN OUR COUNTRY FIRST, then worry about other countries. just look at these gangs... BLOODS, CRIPS, MS-13, LATIN KINGS and QUEENS, FOUR CORNER HUSTLERS, SURENO 13, and PALOS HOOD to name a small majority of them. Each of the ones ive stated have control over AT LEASY 3 FULL sq miles in their cities. and our government is too afriad to take care of that but they want to spend HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS on friggin health care and bailing out companies and banks who screwed THEMSELVES over on their own. It doesnt matter wether you vote republican/democrat/independant. WERE SCREWED! im moving to ireland in 2 weeks and im going to watch america burn, its not the way i wanted it but its the way it is.

Street gangs have to be handled as individuals because AFAIK our law does not have any provisions for prosecuting organized armed gangs. If we do we should be using them against the drug distributers instead of encouraging these gangs by failing to prosecute.
If recent history has any bearing whatsoever, the gun-toting group that should be most feared is the ATF which serves as the Gestapo wing to oppress dissenters...
