China has benefited from this policy. Before people criticize the 1 child policy, they need to examine India. Like China, it is similar with regards to its population size and third world status. The poverty and disease has risen in India as a result of uncontrolled population growth particularly in rural and poor areas. It is a human rights violation but unfortunately it is a necessary evil to help curb poverty and disease.

Population is not the reason for the problems in India, Bangladesh has approximately the same population density as Fremont California.

You understand what you just said? you just made my point, Bangladesh, the poster child for the overpopulation crowd, has the same density as Fremont California, not exactly on the radar for overcrowded US cities!

Overpopulation is a relative thing, look at the density of NY city, obviously a lot of people LOVE New York!! So to them they are not overpopulated. I personally like having my home in the middle of 20 acres where I cant see or hear any one, and there are stilll al ot of places in this country where you can have that.
