This is government!
They push the whole "It takes a village" ideology on their citizenry but when the citizenry tries to live by it, they slap you across the face.
What they meant was, give us your money and we'll be the "village" for you. We know what's best.

We have too lawyers and too many laws and too many lawyers as politicians. Now Michigan politicians are proposing new laws to exempt this situation. We wrap ourselves up in laws till logic goes right out the window.

IMO we should propose new legislation barring lawyers from being politicians for the next 100 years.

Looking at the article it seems that Michigan rapidly acknowledged their current law didn't make much sense, and are taking immediate action to allow such help.

Seems they are appropriately addressing the issue.
