I remember this story. I remember how quick the mainstream media were to imply this man was killed by "white racists" who hated Obama or something like that.

I also remember how quickly the media dropped the story when they found out that really wasn't the case and that the Census worker had killed himself.

Here's an update on the whole sordid thing-

The Hanging
The body of William Sparkman Jr., a 51-year-old census worker, was found in 2009 in an isolated cemetery in the Appalachian region of Kentucky. He hung naked from a tree, hands bound, the word FED scrawled in black marker across his chest. Sparkman's death briefly made headlines: to some, it seemed to implicate our polarized politics; to others, a region long known for its insularity. And then the case disappeared from the national view. Here is the story of what really happened to Bill Sparkman, a complex man whom few people truly knew.

How do people hang themselves with their hands bound? There was a story last year in San Diego where a naked woman's body was found hanged, her feet bound and her hands bound behind her back. It was ruled a suicide as well.

Ahh, yes, I remember this right wing murder. There is a rather large element of the right wing which has an absolutely insane hatred of the government even going so far as to say murdering census workers is ok. This is what the right wing's constant hate speech results in.
