Long before any politician would touch it, The Wall Street Journal was all over FNM accounting irregularities and warning about the consequences. But FNM fit the social engineering policies of powerful Democratic politicians such as Schumer, Dodd and Frank. The final housing bubble was one of the slowest moving and most anticipated pops ever to hit the market...it's amazing any financial firm was so short-sighted not to be prepared.
