Remember the controversy over the Pentagon policy of not allowing the press to take pictures of the flag-draped caskets of American war dead as they arrived in the United States? Critics accused President Bush of trying to hide the terrible human cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"These young men and women are heroes," Vice President Biden said in 2004, when he was senator from Delaware. "The idea that they are essentially snuck back into the country under the cover of night so no one can see that their casket has arrived, I just think is wrong."
With casualties mounting, the debate over U.S. policy in Afghanistan is sharp and heated. The number of arrivals at Dover is increasing. But the journalists who once clamored to show the true human cost of war are nowhere to be found.
Without Bush, media lose interest in war caskets | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Without-Bush-media-lose-interest-in-war-caskets-8310113-62427012.html - broken link)
Barbara Bush had a distain for body bags. They messed with her mind filled with flowers, and sunbeams.
Typical liberal back-peddling. You cried and whined because of the no-photo policy, and now that you have it, you don't use it. First it was all about blaming George W. Bush, and now it's all about blaming Bush Sr. Surely you can muster an ounce of blame for the hypocritcal liberal media, eh?
Liberalism is a mental disorder. Posts like this drive that home solidly.
It wasn't that anyone wanted to take pictures of caskets on any large scale, the problem was that the government prevented it which was considered an violation of freedom of the press.
Don't you know left wingers love death as long as it is at the hands of a Democrat? They also love their warmonger hussein obama so they will do anything to cover for him.
You dont hear daily body counts anymore either. Its almost like the wars are over you just dont hear much about them anymore
I hear body counts all the time, every morning when US troops have died. On MSNBC. George Sephanopolous reads the names of those who died in the previous week on his show every Sunday morning. On ABC.
Of course they don't. They also don't care about reporting the increased violence, car bombs, suiciders and US deaths like they did practically everyday with Bush.
Notice, the liberals don't care so much anymore either.
You also don't see the anti-war protesters either. I thought anti war meant, you know, AGAINST war, regardless of where it's being fought or what President is in office. And when, what's her face, went to Martha's Vineyard when obama was on vacation to protest war, as she has always done, it got almost zero press, whereas before, OMG. All the Baby Killer and Bush is Hitler and a Nazi posters. That's okay for the left. Just like they called the tea baggers angry mobs and yet, it was the liberal left whackos at the G-20 summit protest (the anti capitalism protest) who were being disruptive, trashing businesses and rolling dumpsters down the street. Oh yes, war is okay and protest is good, as long as you've got a left agenda. What a load of sh*t.
Of course they don't. They also don't care about reporting the increased violence, car bombs, suiciders and US deaths like they did practically everyday with Bush.

You really ought to watch MSNBC in the morning. They report on it whenever there is an incident. I sort of puzzles me that you don't know that they continue to cover it.
