That was me the other day. I came across a couple of guys in a public parking lot, with a table set up, presenting themselves as Teabaggers.

I didn't ask for their credentials, nor even read their literature. What got me going was a picture of Obama with the Hitler mustache.

I've been a conservative all my life - And this type of nonsense is just childish.

If you agree with Obama or not, he's our president. And, defacing his picture is the same as drawing a swatstika on the American Flag.

And for the argument that the whacked, far-left liberals did the same for Bush, or whatever - So what?

We are not about revenge - Revenge is something done by a vengeful little brat... And, I doubt if Obama defaced anyones image.

To me, this nonsense destroys any credibility of this Teaparty - no matter how few of them take part in it.

Before the 'bricks' start flying...I'll tell you now, once some of the more vehement 'anti-Obamans' see and read this thread, your 'conservative credentials' are going to be questioned, and you'll be subjected to some really scathing criticism...

But your point is very well taken---and your words ring true...I realize not all who didn't vote for Mr Obama participate in the seemingly 24/7 hatefest that goes on here on C-D and in the offline world as well...I'll say that if the Tea Parties were indeed based on the principles of non-violent protest and were about voicing legitimate displeasure and concern over government policies, then I have respect for those 'tea-baggers' that chose to adhere to those principles...

However, I possess nothing but loathing for those who, like those gentlemen you encountered in the parking lot, have nothing better to do with their time than to compare a sitting President to a long-dead, maniacal dictator, and scream and shout and wave their arms, and blame him for everything from 'losing the Olympics for Chicago (which is insufferable, insipid, baseless BS)' to the breakup of the Beatles, all the while offering not one single alternate solution and polluting the atmosphere with their hot air...

For those folks, though, there is a parallel in nature---an ostrich will stick its' head in the sand, possibly to avoid noise or sunlight or whatever (LOL...animal studies was NOT my strong suit in school)...they, however, have their heads firmly stuck in a much darker, tighter and odorous place

You are a conservative? No conservative would use the term teabagger, which is a gay sex act. I am not buying your fairy tale.

Good post. Obama is not a white nationalist, it's insane to think that he would care about White people the same way Adolf Hitler did. Obama is anti-white, and that makes him a Bolshevik/communist/socialist/marxist. That particular teabagger is really stupid. Obama should be photomontaged with a picture of Marx, not Hitler. Obama wants to CHANGE America/Western Civ, Hilter wanted perserve Germany/Western Civ, it's a huge difference. Obama is anti-West, Hitler was pro-West, probably the most pro-West person that has lived.

Exactly, what kind of justification is that?
I always wonder why people have to attack a politician on a personal level?
You want to attack his politics? Go ahead, that is a thing you HAVE to do as a citizen.
It is not a Rep/Dem thing. Only because you are Rep doesn't mean you have to agree with everything a Rep. politician says or/and does. Same thing with the Democrats.
I remember when the Dixie Chicks made a comment about Bush, and after that they were attacked by a lot of Republicans.
Now the same people are attacking Obama because they feel thats the right thing to do. But it was not the right thing to attack a republican president?
That is hypocritical.
I wish people would generally discuss the politics, instead of spreading hate. It truly is high school style.
Unfortunately, most people that attack Obama's policies have no solid background in politics or economics.
Not that his politics were not attackable, but the lack of basic knowledge is demonstrated by a lot of people on CD.

Btw, I am from Europe, and if I was an American citizen, I would vote for a third party candidate.

You're going to have people on the fringe within any group, on paper I whole heatedly agree with the teabag movement. then again on paper communism looks great too.

It goes beyond the "far left", media bias is a pretty good example. Here's interesting comparison of the same reporter where in both cases the Hitler image was used.

YouTube - Susan Roesgen CNN: Bush Hitler OK Obama Hitler NO?!?!

Where it's Bush the reporter calls it "look alike", when it's Obama it's suddenly becomes offensive.

Good for you! I don't consider myself conservative, but I'm glad to see conservatives like yourself standing up to these nutjobs. They are a disgrace to an otherwise well thought out philosophy.

Good for you - what a great post!

I agree we need more civility and disagreement based on facts, rather than reactionary partisan disrespect and name calling. And that goes for anyone communicating their beliefs in an extreme and illogical fashion.
