It is a GOOD idea. Have you ever polished off a soda, taken off in a jet, hit bad weather, only to have the crew tell you to remain seated, and the plane bounces like crazy, and your bladder is FULL, and you gotta pee so bad you can taste it ??? I will gladly whizz before I leave on a long flight.
I hate using airplane bathrooms, so whenever possible, I do try to use the bathroom in the terminal before I board a plane. But I would laugh my ass off and walk right on by if some airline drone tried to make me go on command. Absurd.

Are they going to stop feeding people and giving them drinks on their planes, too, thereby preventing bringing on the need to evacuate while in flight? This is seriously retarded.
I will promise to go before boarding, if they promise to take off at the scheduled time. If I am stuck on the runway for hours at a time and not let off the plane, then all bets are off.
actually a better way of lowering the weight load on a plane would be to ban fat people from flying but since this a Japanese airline that would be a issue since most Japanese are not overweight corn fed Americans.
