This has been dragging on for years but sooner or later (probably sooner) it's coming to a head. The question seems to be will the Iranians underestimate Obama and call his bluff. I wouldn't do that.

http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article13987.html

"The least that can be said about this is that the Obama administration and Israel are trying to reshape the negotiations with the Iranians and Russians. The most that can be said is that the Americans and Israelis are preparing the public for war. Polls now indicate that more than 60 percent of the U.S. public now favors military action against Iran. From a political point of view, it has become easier for U.S. President Barack Obama to act than to not act. This, too, is being transmitted to the Iranians and Russians."

Actually there is a bit of humor in all this. In two recent polls which showed that the majority of Americans favor leaving Afghanistan and an overwhelming majority favor leaving Iraq, it doesn't take much to talk the American public into another war.

You can now sell a war to the American people easier than a watch or a pair of underwear.

Most Americans do not want Iran attacked. Most normal Americans.

We better darn well attack Iran, we spent the last fifteen years setting up troops on either side spending billions and if we don't attack it will have all been wasted money.

And what did the German Nazis and Imperial Japanese do the the people of Hoboken, and Tyler ?

Your logic is something out of Bundist isolationism.
No doubt that if you were around in the late 30's you'd be taking the position of that group.

Oh, please, spare me the F#X "News" party line. Every war is not WWII. This is more akin to Vietnam. The right wing party line of the time (like most right wing party lines) have proven to be total BS. The domino theory was wrong. The Soviet Union collapsed of its own ineptitude and hyper-militarism. Eerily we're following the same path through Afghanistan. Vietnam is not and never was a threat to the American way of life and neither is Iraq or Iran or Afghanistan. They're all rag tag third world countries with a few lunatics that make a lot of noise. Should we continue monitoring the situation? Of course. Should we continue throwing TRILLIONS of taxpayer dollars at it? We can withdraw now half broke or we can withdraw later totally broke.
