Go back to Church. Learn family values. Keep it in your pants until you're married. Teach personal responsibility.

Move away from this liberal, "I'm OK you're OK" philosophy.

I'm curious where those figures come from, and if they are indicative of the actual absence of one parent or if it's based on the mother being listed as "single", even though the parents reside together in the same home with their children.

I know some will get angry at this but it is the woman's fault. Many woman take more time choosing their clothes then they do who will father their children. Woman need to think more BEFORE they make a baby with a man.

Ugh. the ignorance of this statement is just too much. Like it's only the woman's fault she got pregnant?? Maybe if we didn't promote masculinity as screwing every woman a man comes across once they turn the age of 13 without consequence, we wouldn't have such a big issue with households without fathers present.

Who the hell said it was only the woman's fault she got pregnant? It is her fault who she chose have sex with.

If you are not sure that you want the man you are sleeping with to be the father of your children DON'T have sex with him. Pretty straight forward.

I agree we need to teach boys not to act like dogs in heat but at the day it is the woman who decides to spread her legs.

The solution is obvious - become Asian or a Pacific Islander.

These folks (at the Annie E. Casey Foundation in Baltimore, MD) seem to have the answers pretty well summararized (and do so without name calling and finger pointing! Amazing!):

Manadatory birth control until you are either:
1) married
2) financially secure and have health insurance
3) minimum high school grad, at least 23 years old with a job and not living with your parents

We don't need both parents to live together to be good parents. I grew up just fine in a single parent situation.

I think the better question is, how do we keep both parents as a regular part of the childrens lives after divorce.

I think the answer to that question is to make divorce more equitable, and not just hand custody to the woman, because she is a woman. A father working is a way of caring for his child. I'd love to stay home and be with my son all the time, but someones got to pay the bills.
