Why do all Americans want to live till their 80/90/100???

At least, that is what it seems like from the Political Main stream news.

There are people in some countries, even today, where the average lifespan is like 40-50... Why aren't these same American's worrying about these people's lifespans?

I just don't understand why our political/social society right now is saying that we must prolong life for as long as possible, when I don't believe that the length of life is what matters at all, but the amount of value you get and give each day from it is what is important.

Well, it is tough to get and give value each day when you are dead...

ah, the old "quantity Vs. quality" as it applies to one's lifespan.

Our culture doesn't value old age so much as it is really focuses on prolonging life due to an extreme fear of death.

why don't you lead the parade, dude, answer your own questions, first. and also state why you care who lives, who dies... we live long lives in the US because of the technology that has been developed here. who wants to put a particular point on the death day. do you?

This is how the thread will be.

State your age bracket from the following:
18-30
31-45
46-65
66-80
81+

Then state what age you hope to live till.

And Why you hope to live to that age.

Here is a novel, out of the box thought: How about living long AND getting value out of each day lived?

46 to 65
I want to live as healthy a life for as long as possible. I get a lot of pleasure from existing in human form. It has been a fascinating journey, and I like to look back, and forward. I don't want to end up walking around in my robe looking like a plucked turkey, and not knowing exactly what my name is. As long as I am independent, sexually active, and can laugh a great deal, I basically have it made.
