Republicans do not want government out of people's lives. They want it out of certain areas, and in other areas. Until they learn that conservative principles should be centered around minimal govt, in action, not just the lip service they have been giving us for the last few decades, they will not earn my vote back.

and I'd tend to agree with your point, just wanted everyone to understand that I wasn't one of those you were describing. For the record I don't even smoke pot, just never appealed to me and can't stand the smell. If any personal freedom issue bugs right now me its gambling.

Here in Ohio they are yet again trying to pass a casino bill. All the Bible Thumpers are up in arms yet they say nothing about church bingo nights, horse racing or scratch off tickets. God forbid I want to play some hold em though.... It's all about playing off the emotions of the evangelicals and who's getting paid off.

It's this kind of thinking that alienates many younger voters and drives them to the left. Both parties are actually quite liberal, both spend money like drunken sailors in a whorehouse but it's percieved that the left messes with your pewrsonal lives a little less than the right.

I saw too many drug addicts, and I have no interest in seeing heroin or coke or any of their by-products legalized.

Pot is different, and I know I'll tick people off, but here goes. Pot should legalized, taxed and regulated. Same with pot from other countries, especially Mexico, and take away the incentive to smuggle it in.

You can do what you want with your body, but I will resist the attempt to legalize anything more than pot.

Legalized is not a moral or social concern of the government.
Seems to me people who want drugs, GET drugs legal or not.
Punish those who break the law while ON DRUGS!!!! For the behavior of robbery etc not for having it, or for using it. Some college student who has pot in his room shouldnt go to jail, now if he for some reason was high and driving then make the punishment stricter.
