North Dakota is the only state with a positive number. Man.

If the first stimulus did this much "positive" work, why is obama/emmanuel/axelrod pushing for a second one? Hm?House Committee on Ways & Means - Republican

Good read.
I wonder how much of North Dakota's success with riding out this recession has been that massive pool of oil they've started tappin in recent years and all the money that goes with it?
Coal?
Natural Gas?
Legal hemp cultivation?

Good for North Dakota though!

I believe if you look into the stimulus plan, you will find that is has saved government jobs, it was never designed to save and private sector jobs. so, just as 0bama and Biden have said, the stimulus plan is working exactly as planed.

By starting this thread, it's clear that you really don't understand what the stimulus was designed to do.

It was never meant to or capable of turning around over all job loss. The concept behind government interference in a recession / depression in any country is that you mitigate the depth of the valleys as much as possible.

In that sense, there are many projects underway and many people working who otherwise would not be right now. Unemployment benefits have been extended, schools are being rebuilt, rail systems are being developed, and highways are being fixed. Many flaws in the stimulus, but it's doing what it was meant to do.

One can argue whether it protracts recessions, which is legitimate, but its goal is to mitigate impact during, and that's exactly what it's doing and will continue to do over the course of its 2 year distribution cycle.

Please post your estimate for the unemployment rate had the stimulus not been enacted.

Why is everyone talking about a SECOND stimulus.

We didn't spend all of the first one yet ......
Release the funds from the first one..all that money tucked away for another year or two.

What are these people drinking ??

This is because there has been no "stimulus". Everything this administration does in a negative on the economy. That's they way they have planned it.

My estimate? I'd dare say the same numbers, if not more. Question is, where did the money go, what is the "positive" side of hopenchange?

That is like saying that Pearl Harbor lured the Japanese to attack, setting up thier ultimate demise.

Of course they said that the stimulus would increase jobs. They just changed thier story to this ridiculous, imaginary "saved jobs" immeasureable number to save face when they realized the "stimulus" failed miserably.

"Let's see. The stimulus did not create ANY jobs, as promised. As it has failed, let's make up something that cannot be measured or evaluated in any way. Let's see.......we already contaminated their precious bodily fluids with fluoridation, so we can't use that. I've got it! Not created jobs, but SAVED JOBS!"

Even the libs will be sick of this guy at the end of his term when thier are unemployed or thier incomes are reduced. It is hard to be happy when you are unemployed and broke.

7 months???? LOL..Why would you expect perfection in 7 months? The stimulus was expected to slow the tide which it has.If you can say the same thing in 36 months, you might have a point.
