Listen, I actually happen to be a socialist, and as a socialist, let me assure you that they aren't socialists. Obama and the Democrats voted in favor of using tax payer money to bail out the banks, the proverbial heart and soul of capitalism, and Obama has people from the banking industry in his administration. That's not socialism. Neither is dismissing single payer in favor of a public option. Believe me, I wish Obama really was a socialist, because then I'd have a real reason to vote for him again besides keeping the National Soci, err, excuse me, I mean "Republican" Party out.

Rest assured, socialism has little to no voice in Washington, our elected politicians are all capitalists and corporatists looking out for the interests of our masters while having little real concern for the rest of us.
obamba is a socialist, those bank are not the heart and soul of the capitalist market.capitalism would have destroyed this banks long ago.it is obamba who took theese banks and propped them up.like any socialist dictator would. He did the same with the car companies they are propped up,useless companies proped up like puppets held up by the government with strings .casro, chavez, kim, this is what they do in thier countries.and this is what we are doing here in america.if this isnt socialism then you do not know socialism

Did you even bother reading anything I've said?

The fact that you honestly believe that Obama is somehow a socialist even after someone who actually is a socialist tells you that he is not, clearly demonstrates that you have absolutely no idea what socialism even is.

Because I believe we should have true freedom and not having to be essentially wage slaves to some rich guy who had the fortune to be born to rich parents, and I believe in equality and not having a fortunate few possessing nearly all the power and wealth.

True socialism is when, no matter what job you do, you make the same amount of money. True socialism is when everyone is alloted the same things... same house, same car, etc. Where everything is 100% equal across all lines.

I don't want to be a socialistic nation despite what people on this board want to say about me. However, in certain areas.. particularly ones that are matters of life and death ... everyone should be treated as nothing more than human beings.. not dollar signs.

Should we all receive the same income for different jobs, absolutely not. Should we all be driving BMW's and Mercedes Benz's.. or even a car at all,.. absolutely not.

Should everyone be able to get treatment when they are sick. Absolutely because that is the difference between life and death. Health care isn't a luxury item, however it is come to be priced as such. So then, do only the wealthy deserve the treatments. Do other people who may not make as much as someone that is wealthier deserve to die simply because they make less?

Education.. our founding fathers , like Jefferson, recognized that the ability to learn should be available to everyone and so education became a form of social policy. Do we all deserve to go to Ivy league private schools? No, but we all deserve to be educated and given the opportunity to educate. They recognized that an educated population was more likely to achieve and grow and become, well what we are today. Had it not been a socialized policy we most certainly wouldn't be where we are today.

There has to be balance. Where things are out of balance, all hell breaks lose. We've tried the private system of health care access for , well forever and it hasn't worked. It's time is up and now we need to balance it out so that deserving people.. ALL people can access a life or death making thing.

It belongs in some areas, doesn't in others.

How else do you think nationalizing a nation starts? It always starts with taking over the capital of that country...

This country is a far cry from socialism-
we remain very capitalistic -especially when we care little about the health and well being of our citizens.

These words of the head of the Socialist Party USA back in the 1940s tell me much but how will we know when we have arrived? It started with the Progressive Movement in the early 20th Century and really got rolling in the 1930s with FDR. Now we are gaining swiftly on the end with some of the things coming from our government. Who will be able to tell us when we have finally taken on the whole thing? Who will tell us, even if they can?
If you look at social security it's the means to the end. A system with no boundaries in a finite world only has one result.

The followers of the leaders proposing such plans have no real idea to the true intentions of these policies. They care nothing about everyone and do care everything about themselves and thier continuation of their unfettered powers.

Considering that the government didn't approach the banks, but the banks approached and BEGGED for the help.... Hardly that the government really wanted to get involved.

And , BTW, it wasn't Obama that was seated at the helm when all that went down.. so to claim Obama is a socialist because of that (as someone else has in this thread) is.. well plain silly.

K.. consipracey theory much.

I think you need to go out and buy some tinfoil for that head.. because , you know , the government is trying to read your mind.

Oh.. and the queen of England is actually the ruler of the world and getting the U.S to do it's bidding...LOL. This is according to LaRouche pack.

Wow.. wacko's the lot! LOL.

Gee.. government ..the politicians supporting reform are soooo evil.. god forbid that every American can access health care and seek treatment so that they could live.. Perhaps the standing in the way of opposing such health care motives is to exterminate those that are .. well not wealthy enough to afford the expensive surgeries, procedures and meds so that all the nation is left with are lawyers, doctors, CEO's.. blah blah blah..

Please..

Even Reagan's biographer couldn't find any evidence backing the statement.

The only thing close was "The American people will take socialism, they won't take the label".

A more accurate Thomas quote would be ""The difference between Democrats and Republicans is: Democrats have
accepted some ideas of Socialism cheerfully, while Republicans have accepted them reluctantly"**

But it still doesn't mean ANYONE of either party is trying to turn us into a socialist nation.

You're suppose to provide links... Snopes probably wouldn't like you trying to claim their findings.
