What morons, who volunteer to give up their freedom and privacy, willingly accept being taken care of like infants by their government, and on the other hand, complain about the greedy fat cats, who happen to be the same greedy fat cats benefitting from the assaults on their privacy and freedom?

What people in other countries do not seem to understand is that, by and large, Americans simply do not want government controlling our lives. We have a tradition and ideal of freedom that we have grown up with. With control of health care, comes control of our lives to an even greater extent than what government already has (which is considerable). No disrespect intended but Canadians, Australians and Europeans have lived under nanny state governments for so long they are inured to such a life style. And that is what all the fuss is about.

Not true. There's a model in Massachusetts. From the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons:
Massachusetts resorts to group visits with the doctor « AAPS News of the Day
Be sure to read the doctors comments at the bottom.

Oh, and by the way... you're required to sign a document waiving your right to patient confidentiality so that the Dr. can discuss your medical history and medical condition/problems in front of/with the rest of the group. I'm sure you have no problem sharing the details of your medical history and health problems with random strangers/neighbors/friends/employers, etc., right?

No one discusses patients medical history in the UK with anyone except your medical team. Maybe if America stopped these small, non workable, health "projects" in differing states and got a really viable health system such as the NHS in the UK and implemented them nationally, then, and only then will America have a health system that is worthy of ALL Americans. The present health system in America is broken beyond repair and only complaicent fools would fight to keep it.

You should do two things:

1) Learn what a 'useful idiot' is.
2) Look in a mirror

You cannot compare costs of the UK to costs in the US.

Literally it is apples and oranges.

Apparently, you didn't notice that the reason for the group doctor appointments was the fact that there are not enough doctors to meet patients' needs when large numbers of new patients flood into the system. NHS or not, there'll be no difference - we'll STILL have a doctor shortage, hence... group doctor appointments.

Now, answer the question...

You would have no problem sharing the details of your medical history and health problems with random strangers/neighbors/friends/employers, etc., right?
