Real A-holish thing for the guy to do, but I don't see what Obama has to do with it.

Here you have a black professor punching a white woman over a race induced debate. I believe the President now has an obligation to address this issue as a precedent was set with the beer at the Whitehouse.
Only way she should have a beer with this professor is if he's shackled at the hands and feet and the shackles bolted to the table. For her safety, make him drink the beer from a straw and plastic cup. Make sure he's wearing an orange jumpsuit.

I was not blaming him or anything like that, which obviously some posters cannot comprehend, I just was wondering if this calls for his attention.
I believe he now has an obligation to address the matter.

Rowdy drunks in a bar.

Stupid idiot for punching a female.

He needs rehab.

Lose his job? No, but she should sue him for assault.

Unfortunately, stuff like this happens a lot. I don't see this turning into a racial issue, he was clearly wrong, I think the cops will handle it. With the Gates thing, there was a debate over what happened. Here, it's a guy punching a woman in a bar, pretty one sided. I doubt anyone will defend him.

I hope you are right. The guy should be punished accordingly and the story should stop there.

So which is it? The story should end there, or Obama "has an obligation to address the matter"?
