Hello everybody!!!
I am in need of your opinion! I have to write an essay on whether American values influence American foreign policy and to what extent.
I think that they do influence it, but was interested in what you think about it?
What episodes relating to foreign policy do you think show the most the influence of the values?
thanks for your help!!!

Ozma

It is my sincere belief that if Americans were aware of what they govt does abroad in their name, that they would make sure that US foreign policy reflects US values.

Oh you agree that we like to spread our values?

Like a love for Democracy?...............as seen in our support for Saudi Arabia's Monarchy?

Maybe our respect for the Rule of Law?.........as seen in our violation of the UN Convention on Torture treaty? And kidnapping of persons on foreign soil?

Oh maybe it's our love of fair elections?...........Like the fraud our puppet in Afghanistan just pulled 3 Months ago?

Yes it reflects our values. Otherwise you would have seen unrestricted bomobing of the north in vietnam war. But opinion like very thing changes as people di not object to the bombing in Libya during Clintons time. I fact their seems to be more peopel wantign to use bombing to restrct our enemies after they strcik than at any time except WWII. We are seeing more and more question having immagration form any middle east country from the middle east. The drug cartels in Mexico have raised the border and immagration problems to a fever opitch as seen in Bush's wanting to give amnesty and the reaction of people. This will have huge implications in voting for years to come IMO.
