It took 7 years for the American death toll (from all causes including non-combat deaths) to reach 4000. It has taken 7 months for the virus to exact the same toll, mostly among the very young. This will soon become a political problem for the Obama administration, in addition to being a public health catastrophe. The administration has totally botched the government response to this pandemic.

36,000 people die from the regular flu each year.

Yes, the OA has botched their handling of the situation (in our area only those in high risk groups can get the H1N1 and the seasonal flu shot is hard to find as well) but so far it's not a public health catastrophe, not by any measure.

How is Obama responsible for a virus?

I'm sure the infection rate shot up in the areas where the inhaled vaccine was freely dispensed.

Actually, if anything, it helped immunize a few additional people who didn't know they were getting immunized! The transmission rate in a day care center was estimated at 0.5%, and that is a place where hygiene is not at a premium. In the general population, it's probably far less.

The rate probably would not have even been that high if there were none given at all. The 'shed' rate introduces the virus where there may have been zero incidence without it.

Oh, give me a break! It's "widespread" in 48 states. It's everywhere. It was worse here in Colorado before the vaccine was released. But what would I know? I only work in heath care.

Also the VA here in New Hampshire will not be getting the H1N1 vaccine at all. No one can give me an answer as to why not....even 60 minutes..

I know literally at least 15 people who have had it so far, and all recovered. The "Death Toll" is actually below the normal flu "Death Toll" so far.

Just something else people try to blame Obama for.
