How about Biden and Ted Kennedy - ever researched their distinguished academic careers? Rich dads buy their kids into school all the time. It is the nature of rich dads. So what? There is not a single person on this board who would not do everything they could for their kids if they had the resources.

Oral Roberts, Liberty College and other right wing colleges are not given the same consideration. They boast much lower admission statistics in addition to job placement statistics. Why is that conservative colleges are considerably less stellar academically than liberal universities? Also why do leading Conservative commentators like Beck, Hannity and Rush lack college degrees? How do conservatives defend this?
When 90% of the staff is made up of ideologically intolerant liberals, it increases the odds a bit, don't you think. Plus, being made up of intolerant liberals, they create a hostile working environment for anyone who is not themselves a liberal.

Have you ever stepped foot on a college campus? I go to a fairly liberal school in a liberal state and maybe only a handful of professors have ever tried to influence how people vote. There are some who push their feeling but the vast majority let you decide for yourself.

Are we now to suggest to our children that an education is not important and that we should simply wait for the couple of handfuls of brilliant but unofficially educated people to make their way to the top to define our times for us? Or that an education is a waste of time since people without it can accomplish the same success (albeit in far fewer numbers)?!

There are arguments for and against getting a college degree. Part of me thinks it's a racket, an expensive one, that turns out cookie-cutter people most of the time. Ultimately, however, an education is really a personal thing, born out of real life experiences and the choices people make with the resources and opportunities presented to them.

I never said an education is a bad thing but it's not a prerequisite to espousing your beliefs or ideas. Once it's espoused then it's up in the air for scrutiny which is a good thing and can be examined by both the educated and the illiterate. There have been many thought experiments about what if a person invested all the money college cost now and where would they be later in life. Not until they're much older, now, does the cost of going to college surpass not going. Of course that ideology doesn't help ones betterment in terms of education but then again some people aren't ready for college until later on in life anyways.

No sane individual would come away from one of these campuses and say these schools are anything but liberal. Regardless of it's past, why are the overwhelming majority of students who attend these schools liberal?

Did you even read the book description, or just see the name William F. Buckley and immediately begin typing?

Clearly the latter, since Buckley's thesis is 100% in agreement with the quote cited above and written by YOU.

In other words, Buckley, himself a Yale Graduate, AGREES with what you say, and in the book explains why. You asked a question and I answered it.

As regards your attempt at an "uppercut":

But let me guess, you didn't attend college and were "self educated" like Beck and Hannity?

Ivy League education is in a sad state indeed if this is what you consider to be an example of "normal discussion."

Being a liberal yourself you may not think there is any bias because you share the same views as your professor, so if your professor is one of those liberals who despise conservatives, you may never know it.

Have you ever had an acquaintance that you got along with fine, but were shocked when one day, when they spoke a racial slur or displayed racial intolerance towards a person of another race?

A man in an environment that is 90% male may not witness any sexism, but that perspective may change if the person were a woman in that same environment.

Universities are not liberal in the style of Alex Jones or Bill Maher.
