In the past few months on City-Data there have been numerous threads about an large increase in death threats against the president. Both CNN and MSNBC along with many liberal blogs reported on those numbers. Evidently no one actually thought to check with the Secret Service because according to them, there has been no increase in such actions.

This was just more typical liberal junk to find a way to discredit good Americans who were protesting increased spending in Washington.

Um, Ronald Kessler writes for Newsmax.

"In a report last month noting that the threats against Mr. Obama have fallen back to typical levels, Mark Hosenball of Newsweek writes that the reports of a 400 percent increase in threats can be traced back to a book about the Secret Service published earlier this year by author Ronald Kessler." -- your source

The OP is blaming "liberals" for lying about 400%. Newsmax is not a liberal source.
