To prevent school shootings, some South Carolina legislators want more guns on campuses.

A House subcommittee approved a measure Wednesday that would allow concealed weapon permit holders to carry guns onto public school campuses, from elementary schools to universities. Supporters say having trained and armed gun owners in schools could prevent massacres like the April 16 shootings at Virginia Tech, where one armed student killed 32 people.

Well, there arent very many people trying to whip out a gun at a Gun show, or at a Police station where everyone is armed. They (criminals) usually go for the least armed place.

That we're even talking about having armed civilians roaming around elementary schools in the name of "public safety". Proof to me that America is f@%ked.

Depressing.

Would you rather a few more 6 year olds get killed first before we'd allow a TRAINED, note, TRAINED professional on the grounds to be armed?

Let's be honest -- America has become a place where we even have to worry about 6-year-olds getting massacred at school. And we're debating whether we should allow a few fake-tough "patriots" the right to carry a gun anywhere they please?

Talk about squashing the ant in spite of the friggin elephant in the room.

I think the word here was TRAINED, not "fake tough patriots". What if, yes this has been asked a million times, teachers or students had been armed at Virginia Tech? Again, I ask how many shooting happen at a gun show? Why? everyone is armed!

Who's "fake-tough?" It sure ain't me. I'm the real deal, and if my kid were off to college, I'd buy him a Concealed Carry Weapon for a going-away present.

If I was still a high school teacher, I'd be packing, too these days. And I dam_ sure would shoot at someone shooting my class of kids.

Getting rid of elephants means doing what you can do, where you can do it, as a good ol' American citizen.

I don't care if it's an ant OR an elephant; if it's waving a gun at innocent people, I'll shoot it.

Im not really understanding why allowing teachers and or students to carry would be a problem? We do have the right to defend ourselves, the police cant be everywhere at once, thats for sure!

If America has gotten too dangerous, why not let me into your house, fully armed, and let me defend you? You don't know who I am, you don't know my history, but I have a concealed-carry permit, so that should be all the assurance you need.

Feel good about that?
