Many of the people who oppose health reform are over 65 and they are basically concerned about it hitting their Medicare benefits. So apparently they think that only old people should have government-run health care.

They should all have their benefits revoked. Since they are so fond of the private sector, let them buy insurance just like the rest of America!

The rest of America?

What about those millions of lazy bums who are on welfare and get free health care and have never earned it like those old people have?

Do welfare bums pay into some kind of system monthly that I am not aware of?

Well, I'm old and on Medicare and I don't feel that way. The politic option is the only way to keep costs down, in my opinion. It's impossible to figure out why some people feel the way they do. I have a nephew who lost a great job two years ago and has been working temporary jobs off and on every since. He and his family have no health insurance and he's been out there protesting health care reform. But then he's a die-hard fan of Rush. Enough said.

Thats the way to show you care about seniors

So you want them to already been denied the most treatment you want them to take a cut to the money spent on their services

Or maybe they just know how terrible it is and dont want the rest of us stuck with it. Hence why most seniors have another insurance besides medicare. They wouldnt need that if medicare was so awesome

Or he thinks he is responsible for him and his family and not his neighbor

I could buy that logic if he actually was being responsible for himself and his kids without having to borrow from others to pay his bills.

They don't oppose healthcare reform. They oppose THE Particular Healthcare Reform that's being shoved on the American public.

Remember, in the very beginning when healthcare reform was just about the 45 million uninsured people? Then it turned out a clump of them could afford insurance but didn't buy it and another clump were illegal aliens? Well, I think if you gave the remainder a voucher to buy health insurance and worked out some way people with pre-existing conditions could be covered, the public would be okay with "healthcare reform."

But noooooooo, the Dems had to go with taking over everyone's life with an enormous intrusive government system and charging taxpayers an arm and a leg for it. Somewhere along the line "healthcare reform" went from being a "help the needy" thing to "The Gateway From Hell To Take Over Our Lives."
