The latest Associated Press-Gfk poll shows the president's popularity holding steady, with 56 percent of those polled
AP-GfK Poll: Gains for Obama, not his Afghan plans - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091217/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_ap_poll_obama_afghanistan - broken link)
However the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 28% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12
Don't you love how AP is trying to circle the wagon for Obama's dropping poll numbers....I bet their Obama approval rating data came for polling Move-on voters...

too bad almost everything we get today is related to AP. they are becoming more slanted all the time. My husband can't beleive it, he almost went to work for them many years ago.
So what would the comments be if Rasmussen and AP agreed?
Ho hum.
It isn't 2012 yet. They'll have to wait until 2012 to agree - 'cause that's when the world will end.
Slants, bias.. it's all statistics, and there is no absolute with polling unless you were to ask everyone. Then, by time you'd get all the information, many people would've died and many others born. Neither group is right and neither group is wrong. They just asked different people

Yes, that is correct. The other thing the Rasmussen-lickers forget is that Rasmussen only includes "likely voters" in their polls; they're the only polling organization that does this, as far as I know. It's not surprising that their results are different from the AP poll which includes a sampling of all Americans.
Also, Rasmussen has a bizarre way of reporting the numbers. They only include those who "strongly" approve or disapprove to come up with their silly approval index. They're leaving out huge numbers of Americans who don't feel strongly one way or the other.
But whatever. Rasmussen gives the Obama-haters a daily dose of mental masturbation. I'm guessing they need the stimulation.

Both polls asked a different question, with different answer choices, so go back to bed, and call us in 3 years.
