I have often wondered why the left does not seem as unified or as "passionate" as those on the right. Whether you think of them as right or wrong they make their voices heard and mince no words in airing their points.

The right appear to have a much more clearer sense of themselves and what they stand for. They know how to tap into people emotions and how to sway sentiment.

The left sometimes seem very bland in comparison. Michael Lind makes an interesting point that the left lacks a sense of history of tradition.

Lind also goes into how so called liberals like the Clintons and even Obama are liberal more in a corporate sense. I think both moderates (whom I believe represent the majority of Americans) and those of leftist leanings should really look into the work of Michael Lind.

Here's what I mean. Check them out.

Liberal : a person who gives other people the benefit of the doubt, until they begin to doubt the benefits.

There is much more to being a liberal than that and Lind does a damn good job providing examples of this.
