I feel bad for people who really believe this. I really do. I'd be willing to bet some of the Consvervatives in here couldn't tell you the terms of the 1st 4th and 5th ammendments either.

But I guess I find an unadvertised executive order that no one knows about (at least until bloggers started pointing it out) that can be tied to the ICC only at a relatively abstract level a rather unthreatening step. Maybe there is more coming, in which case we can look at that when it comes. But in itself, I’m not entirely sure what the fuss is about.

The fact that it is an "unadvertised executive order that no one knows about" is enough to raise concern, especially since this is something that Obama has done. Were it Bush, it would have been all over the liberal press. Were it a good thing, Obama would have announced it in his usual self serving manner.

As I have pointed out by posting not only the Executive Order but the pertinent legislation that there wasn't anything note worthy to advertise. Being neither a good thing or a bad thing but a rather inconsequential thing bring public attention to the change in what is largely the tax status of INTERPOL, its employees and family members would have put even the most salacious (but sane) members of the press die at their keyboards from boredom.

"Clear the front page! I have a story about income tax as it pertains to international police officers!" Nah, doesn't really sizzle.

Okay tonyandclaire89,

If you really want to scare yourselves go read the Patriot Acts I & II. Both are available online, both have real teeth, and both were ushered in during the Bush administration. Have fun not bothering to read them.

It's not "unadvertised" it's posted directly on the White House website.

I see the propaganda machine is still ruinning on schedule. Funny thing is the far right fringe has never been able to list one right they have lost since President Obama has taken office, even when asked in a thread solely dedicated to just that question. So as with the many other wild accusations from the farside this BS is only good for helping gardens grow.

EXECUTIVE ORDER
And who issued and signed executive order #12425?

By virtue of the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and statutes of the United States, including Section 1 of the International Organizations Immunities Act (59 Stat. 669, 22 U.S.C. 288), it is hereby ordered that the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), in which the United States participates pursuant to 22 U.S.C. 263a, is hereby designated as a public international organization entitled to enjoy the privileges, exemptions and immunities conferred by the International Organizations Immunities Act; except those provided by Section 2(c), the portions of Section 2(d) and Section 3 relating to customs duties and federal internal-revenue importation taxes, Section 4, Section 5, and Section 6 of that Act. This designation is not intended to abridge in any respect the privileges, exemptions or immunities which such organization may have acquired or may acquire by international agreement or by Congressional action.

I guess he too, was a socialist, a Muslim and worked to destroy America.

Seems it's the do-nothing Dutch that did zip. I guess you'll conveniently ignore that, eh?
