This is another case of flight crews and passengers being hyper-sensitive to any person other than themselves and making reports which cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and use and divert man-power away from important and vital work.
They are also letting the terrorists win. This is exactly what Al-Quida wants and was part of their main objective in the attacks on the United States.
I resent the authorities disarming me while they know they cannot actually protect me in a terrorist incident. We need more guns carried by people trained to recognize and respond to an assault without needing to count on the stewardess or the onboard "security" agent. I recommend each seat pouch should have a one shot pistol loaded with #4 birdshot. In the event of some jerk trying to set off a shoe or crotch bomb the nearest passenger could simply shoot first and ask questions later. Counter terrorism is way too important to be left to the “authorities”. Eternal vigilance is the price of security and it cannot be delegated.
Hell, Muslims make me nervous, whether on a plane, or on the freeway. I never know what those people are going to do next to terrorize me and my country. Especially since Christmas Day. That was just a d*** move.
