It’s telling that McConnell believes that a Senate health reform bill which would cover more than 30 million uninsured Americans while reducing the deficit is bad for America. McConnell appears to have made a political calculus that health care reform must be defeated in order to help Republicans’ electoral prospects.

It needs to fail and we need to restart the process and do it right.

We can get a much cheaper health care system by adopting a single-payer health care system.
There is no need to hand out a bunch of taxpayer dollars to Big Pharma and health insurance companies.

I don't think this bill will reduce the deficit. More than anything it will make the deficit bigger.

The headline is misleading.
McConnell isn't against health care reform, but rather like the majority of Americans, is against the current pending legislation (which is detrimental to the health of the USA)

Another poster fallen victim to "Think Progress" propaganda.

Why do you always say "Hussein"? What is the point?

Do you think the name is scary?

I don't think starting over is necessarily a bad thing. I would prefer to see a series of smaller, well thought-out reform packages passed over a period of time, like say over the next five years, preferably with bi-partisan support.

I get tired of hearing about how everything is a crisis and needs big, sweeping reform now now now.

I would be completely okay if the current reform effort failed and most people I know want it to fail, too.

He is right.

It needs to be stopped and they need to start over, one issue at a time.
