I already did. I donated $10 to the Red Cross, and I specified it to go to Haiti. I make less than $10 an hour at my job, so I would give more if I could.
Good thing we have people like you. Unlike some of the other selfish people in this forum.
Some argue that our "donation" is through our tax dollars. I lean toward agreeing with that view.
Yes but in cases like this I encourage to send additional aid.
Even if it is 5 bucks. I think there is a way you can text the red cross and the donation will be added to your cell phone bill.
I was pleased to see this today. I hope some other organizations follow suit.
"The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is absorbing all associated administrative costs so that 100% of every dollar you give to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF will support UNICEF's relief efforts for children in Haiti."
We donated to UNICEF and ARC. I just learned of a website which is great for navigating where your charities go, charitynavigator.org. There's lots of good info including salaries for CEOs etc.
Of course, because I know more $ is not the solution to Haiti's problem.
On the contrary it's the solution right now, you better believe it.
