"France appears close to enacting the first law in the world that makes verbal and psychological abuse in marriages a criminal act, and 32% of Americans say the United States should have a law that punishes individuals for arguing with their spouses. Forty percent (40%) are opposed to such a law."

I really want to know who the 32 percent are in the US that think their marriage needs to be policed. The other 68 percent of us, should we be paying for this with taxes? Can you imagine if the cops have to come to a married person's home everytime they have an argument? Could you imagine how many cops you'd need? Can you imagine the administrative infrastructure that would go with it if it doesn't even involve the cops? Can you imagine how much of it is "he said/she said" unprovable? Are we going to tie up the courts, too?
Hey, 32 percent, just do the rest of us a favor and get divorced!

Careful, they just might become the highly paid Family Services Cops.
Anything in there about an "anti-nagging" law or "no more than four pairs of shoes" legislation?
Well what about no more than x amount of computer hardware? Fishing gear? Golf clubs?
Just what everyone needs, more in-laws.
