The 'American dream' is actually Swedish: study - The Local

seems like it is more popular than many people think.

do you believe the stats?

"Respondents vastly underestimated the actual level of wealth inequality in the United States, believing that the wealthiest quintile (20 percent) held about 59 percent of the wealth when the actual number is closer to 84 percent."

The wealth is being redistributed...it's going from middle class Americans to up and coming middle class Chinese and Indians.

Globalization..some win and some lose.

I sure wish the poll had a couple of more selections:

American citizen - Yes
American citizen - No

Do you think this 84% is paying it's fair share of taxes?

That would be a great follow up question....

Could you provide some evidence showing how America has so much class mobility. Last I knew, when compared to other "socialist" countries in Europe, we were far behind.

In short, I disagree and would like you to provide evidence stating so.

If people are intelligent and talented enough to make enough money to even be mentioned in that top group good for them.

What is so wrong with people being ultra wealthy?

Use Bill Gates for instance, he EARNED his fortune but some people believe he should not get to keep his fair share of his EARNED fortune.

Gates should not be paying a higher rate then you or I do.

We all should be paying a fair equitable amount.

And no one person should get away with not paying a dime in taxes but use our services that the ultra rich are overpaying for.

Just like most libs who think that people deserve a living wage. No one deserves a living wage, you get paid based on your talents, skills etc.

Stealing money from rich people is wrong.

So what if a few people hold the most wealth. They have done something the rest of us were not smart enough to do.

Disagree all you like. There is economic mobility in the US. You may think that every American is born and dies in the same economic circumstances but you would be wrong.
