Most dangerous are the liberals and faux conservatives who believe the Constitution is a living document and seek to change it to suit their agenda.

Trying to control an individual's life is something that both libs and cons have always been doing, only when libs do it it's less noticeable, less annoying, and less intrusive. Plus they hide behind the excuse about protecting others from one's harmful behavior (cigarette smoking, gun ownership). And cons' wish to control someone's life based entirely on their personal (usually religious) beliefs.

Liberal is a synonym for fascist. Liberal just sounds better to them.

Fascism is a far-right ideology, so cons are a lot closer to it than libs.

"The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power.”

— Franklin D. Roosevelt
