SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Republican gubernatorial hopeful Meg Whitman is severing ties with an elected official who described himself as a "proud racist."

The Whitman campaign issued a statement Saturday disavowing Santa Clarita Councilman Bob Kellar. The statement comes one day after state Democrats called on the former eBay chief executive to distance herself from Kellar.

Just to put Bob Kellar's comments into full content..

At the rally, Kellar quoted Theodore Roosevelt’s line that the US has room for only one flag and one language, then added that if believing that made him a racist, “then I’m a proud racist.”

It appears to be a comment in regards to illegal aliens...

And then rabid anti-immigration conservatives wonder why they're called racists. At least this one's proud enough to admit it openly.

Being anti immigration doesnt make one a racist, it makes them intelligent enough to understand how much illegal aliens are destroying this country and making it more difficult for those of us here to find employment.

If this is beyond your understanding, then you continue to call conservatives racists and let the rest of us sit back and wonder how people can be so blind to the truth..
