I don't think it's for the best either. Our standards are being lowered covertly.

-Unemployment benefits for P/T workers now ?
-low wage, entry level service jobs now considered "careers" with benefits ?
-Service/Healthcare/government now are the jobs of the future ? No more engineers, scientists, etc. ?
-Making $250K is now considered "rich".

And the government is helping us to achieve our lowered standards.

Um, the French and American Revolutions were founded on liberal principles of equality, rights and truths. Conservatives were the "bad guys".

These two sentences speak so much.

Have you noticed that even the small business entrepreneurs, that come up with new, better ideas, and products, are shut out by exorbitant govt fees, and regulations, that only the established corporate entities are able to pony up the necessary $$$$ to persue?

They are working the transformation from both ends.......consolidating their economic power into a have, and have not society. But as long as the slaves are amused with iphones, american idol, etc. they will remain blissfully asleep.

You are confusing classical liberalism with modern day liberalism. There are stark contrasts and The French and American Revolutions were founded on classical liberalism ideology, not modern day liberalism ideology. In fact, the Conservative Revolution started by Goldwater has more in common with classical liberalism than modern day liberalism.

If you want to make a case that modern day Republicans have strayed from their roots, then I will probably be inclined to agree with you.

Throughout history, true Conservatism has been at war equally with autocrats and with “democratic” Jacobins. The true Conservative was sympathetic with the plight of the hapless peasant under the tyranny of the French monarchy. And he was equally revolted at the attempt to solve that problem by a mob tyranny that paraded under the banner of egalitarianism. The conscience of the Conservative is pricked by anyone who would debase the dignity of the individual human being. Today, therefore, he is at odds with dictators who rule by terror, and equally with those gentler collectivists who ask our permission to play God with the human race.

--The Conscience of a Conservative.

….Right-wing politics has become a vehicle for channelling this popular anger against intellectual snobs. The result is that many of America’s poorest citizens have a deep emotional attachment to a party that serves the interests of its richest.

It’s like a French Revolution in reverse in which the workers come pouring down the street screaming more power to the aristocracy.
Yup, that's what the tea parties are all about, screaming for more of our property, more control over our freedoms and liberties being transferred from the people to the government.

Posts like yours happen when you glug the Kool-aid for far too long, and you forget to take a breath and end up depriving your brain of oxygen.

Yes I have. Been signing numerous petitions against NAIS, COOL, "organic" agendas and what detriment it can do to the small back yard hobby farmer.

The big guys get a free pass via exemptions while the small holder gets stuck with a compliance bar set so high it would put them out of business.

Indeed, and what can the only inevitable result of this be? Common sense dictates only one answer. Yet it still seems to elude most........
