Has anyone heard Michael Moore speak on this?

Quote:

Michael Moore's documentary, "Capitalism: A Love Story" — the same documentary that criticized government handouts to big business — has been approved for a taxpayer-funded subsidy from the state of Michigan, the Midland-based Mackinac Center for Public Policy is reporting.

The Mackinac Center, a vocal critic of the state's film subsidies, is also critical of the move by Moore's production team.

I hardly see Michael Moore as "big business" but it would be nice had he not taken the money from the state. They are hurting as it is and it's not like he's hard up for the money.

michael moore is a multi-millionaire because of capitalism. That's what makes him a hypocrite.

I didn't even know anyone still pays attention to this clown.

Michael Moore is an infotainer much like those on TV and talk radio today.

I feel like he cherry-picked facts in Sicko, and in Roger and Me he totally lets organized labor off the hook. Strangely, I feel like his conclusion in Bowling for Columbine was one conservatives could embrace -- that it's not the guns, it's the culture of fear that pervades our society.

I think he's only bolstering his case with these actions the same way warren buffet and GE do when they point out gigantic loopholes they're obliged to abuse because the rules of capitalism impose it upon them. I believe that makes them noble characters and I applaud their efforts.

That is to say, if I am board of director, I'm obliged to make the biggest pile of money in fiduciary pursuits. When morality/ ethics is weighed in, it gets run roughshod. Morality of an organization doesn't get rewarded by capitalism, it gets punished regularly in a deregulated climate. Competing with crooks is impossible when rules of capitalism & tax policy are too loose. It speaks to the heart of deregulation that permitted the raping of american economy by nefarious characters in finance industry.

I haven't seen this documentary, but I think I should check it out. Thanks for this post, and hoping Moore finds a way to get that money back to Michigan, because heart of hearts I think he knows they deserve it even if his producers will profit less.

Default I thought you guys supported tax cuts

Did you read the article? This is about tax credits, aka tax cuts. This is not about corporate welfare. Tell me that a Republican is against tax cuts???
