wooo michigan doesnt tax there food. Yet! Im sure Granholm will try and get that done next. Our state has the worst unemployment and is so far in the whole, the city of Benton Harbor's government is being taken over by the state now. I hope we dont have to end up paying another tax.

Arizona budget crisis: please see the date of this report, 8 days BEFORE Obama took office...

Arizona budget crisis dominates legislative session | Arizona Legislature

Keep blaming him for everything, we undestand why you repugs do, it's because there's nothing else to do, except blame. BTW, who has been your guy on capital hill for a very long time? Mc whatshisname?

Sometimes you repugs remind me of the gov and the sheriff in the movie blazing saddles, try to make up stuff that just might work! funny.

I would be pissed if my groceries were taxed in Tuscan, where in Phoenix they got away with none.

Just took a look at my Safeway receipt and Peoria does tax food. I think Glendale does as well. I would rather have a consumption tax than an increase in property taxes. We would soon become another New Jersey with the way governments spend and their inability to spend wisely. Pay the schools, police and general assistence for citizens only and cut the pork.

Phoenix is shooting themselves in the foot with this new tax.

Then again, the Mayor of Phoenix is a very stupid person generally anyway -

I simply wll not do my grocery shopping in the City of Phoenix - I'll go where I can save the money and do some good with it.

You'd be crying a river if you resided in Illinois, they tax everything. The tax around the northern parts of the state used to be 8.75%, it may be higher now, and that's been goung on for quite some time. 2% isn't much. Here in Sierra County New Mexico, we're paying an additional 1/2% to fund the Spaceport construction, not a big deal.

When people live in America they should understand that taxation is inevitable. None of us likes to pay taxes, but I can't see blaming the prez for some state's taxes, Arizona had budget problems before he took office. When states run into budget problems, they usually tap the taxpayers for more $$$$.

Shouldn't this be in the Arizona forum?
State taxation is a state issue.
