Rand Paul was talking with University of Louisville medical students when one of them tossed him a softball. "The majority of med students here today have a comprehensive exam tomorrow. I'm just wondering if you have any last-minute advice."

"Actually, I do. I never, ever cheated. I don't condone cheating. But I would sometimes spread misinformation. This is a great tactic. Misinformation can be very important."

He went on to describe studying for a pathology test with friends in the library. "We spread the rumor that we knew what was on the test and it was definitely going to be all about the liver," he said. "We tried to trick all of our competing students into over-studying for the liver" and not studying much else.

"So, that's my advice," he concluded. "Misinformation works."

The Truthiness of Rand Paul - NationalJournal.com

The article then goes on to show just how Paul uses misinformation--especially as it relates to the ACA--in all his talking points and speeches. You've got to give him credit for admitting that much of what he says is not truthful. I suppose he figures that those who support him either don't care about his dishonesty or applaud it.

Sounds like Paul for ya.

His followers don't care if what he says is true, they pretty much worship him.

Truthiness is a word first coined by Stephen Colbert in 2006. It is defined as "the quality of preferring concepts or facts one wishes to be true, rather than concepts or facts known to be true."

Merriam-Webster Online

Kinda. "Verisimilitude" if you want an Oxford entry.

I bet that Senator Paul was being 'tongue in cheek'. I'll bet those in the audience knew he was joking.

Rand just hit the wall. Ted just hit 70+ percent favorability among TedParty republicans. Rand must be passing stones.

Rand was first chair a few weeks ago.

You ever read the posts where people defend the Dems no matter what lies are told or how badly they misrepresent the facts?
I am no great fan of Paul's but he is hardly the worst offender in DC. That honor might very well belong to the POTUS. If not Obama Harry Reid comes to mind.
