The Tea Party convention kicked off last night with an explosive speech from former Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo, who lambasted "the cult of multiculturalism" in the U.S.

Tancredo, at right, also called President Obama a "socialist ideologue," who was elected because "we do not have a civics, literacy test before people can vote in this country," according to ABC News.

"People who could not spell the word vote or say it in English put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House - name is Barack Hussein Obama," he said, Fox News reports.

Ya know, if McCain had become president, wouldn't he have also been voted in by ...the stupid not so white people? Aren't they like... .the same people? My head assplodes.

The Tea Party, Day 2 - Page 1 - The Daily Beast

“He has ignored our history and our heritage, arrogantly declaring to the world that we are no longer a Christian nation. He's elevated immorality to a new level, setting aside the entire month of last June to celebrate gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender pride…He has apologized to the Arab world for our past, subjugated our national sovereignty by bowing down to the king of Saudi Arabia. He has pursued a socialist agenda by taking control of private companies and pushing a national health-care plan with a public option. Backed by a willing Congress, he has bought off our senators and our representatives with our own money in an effort to mandate this agenda. And when opposed by members of the Senate, he smugly smiled and said, ‘I won.’” Moore then quoted the Declaration of Independence, comparing Obama to King George III: "A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

With the crowd applauding he concluded by shouting repeatedly, “If we wish to be free, we must fight!”—for if not now, when: “Would it be when we are told to disarm and a UN guard is stationed outside every house?”

Know who else believed in revolution? A very famous....socialist.... named Karl Marx.

Yep, and the leader of the Tea Party said he had no problem with what he said.

Scary times in America when that kind of thinking is praised.

The same people who elect every politician, including Tancredo in his time. In his case he has a point

Eh, the Tea Party is just a bunch of angry, old, white people who are angry a "negro" got into office. I think most people write them off as ideologues themselves. In 20-30 years, they'll all either be senile or dead, so it's a dead end movement in my opinion.

The democratic party lead by "redistributing your wealth to the rightful owners" Obama is a joke. You will lose this year.

You lost the middle. The economy is our #1 concern; everytime Obama talks, he spends most of his time talking about Health Care, wtf - he doesn't get it, progressives do not get it. So again because of your disconnect, you will continue to lose. NJ, MA, VA - suck it. Florida, Illinois - its not looking good for you guys. Keep bringing up and blaiming Bush, to the independents - Obama looks childish. And keep on pushing Health Care.

Personally, I don't care what the "tea party" stands for -- but I don't think it stands for me! I'm in the middle of the spectrum, left on some issues, right on others--no pigeon hole for me.

My strategy for the upcoming elections -- I plan to vote against any incumbent that has been in office for more than one term. I don't care what party they are, don't care "where they stand on the issues" -- if they've been in office for more than one term, THEY ARE THE PROBLEM!

I laugh at how each party is blaming the other for this country's ills when they ALL are part of the problem. They certainly don't represent me or their constituents--only themselves, thereby allowing their greed, corruption, and self-importance to bloom like an invasive weed. Our current system is a joke, where only the wealthy get into office, then sit around thinking of ways to pad their pockets, voting special incentives for themselves and putting themselves first before the welfare of this country.

Unfortunately, with dismal voter turnout for elections, I seriously doubt much of anything will change; this country will continue to sink lower and lower, like the Titantic, until it's completely gone. I'm sure, however, that if any change comes about, the "tea party" will take credit; but actually it will be because of people like me who are just plain sick of them all and want to kick their a$$es to the curb!

Like with Sarah Palin (who I'm not really a fan of although we share similar values), the left and MSM is SCARED TO DEATH of what's happening with the Tea Party movement because it represents a 180 shift from what they thought the country was about to become - a socialist paradise where some little piggies (the press and the pols were just a bit more special on the farm than all the rest).

Obama and his bent knee supporters are finding themselves in the middle of an epic FAIL! You lost the middle by reaching waaaaaaaaaaaay too far and you are seeing the early results of playing those cards. November *could* be BRUTAL to the left.

Economy number 1 concern, eh? I can agree with that. It's about time someone thought of the regular Joe Americans and started taking care of what REALLY matters.

Republicans are stepping up their campaign to win donations from Wall Street, trying to capitalize on an increasing sense of regret among executives at big financial institutions for backing Democrats in 2008.

In discussions with Wall Street executives, Republicans are striving to make the case that they are banks' best hope of preventing President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats from cracking down on Wall Street.

GOP strategists hope to benefit from the reaction to the White House's populist rhetoric and proposals, which range from sharp critiques of bonuses to a tax on big Wall Street banks, caps on executive pay and curbs on business practices deemed too risky.

For those of you who don't live in upside down world, let me explain. Republicans want to save the economy by not curbing risky business practices, not penalizing banks for taking money so they wouldn't fail, and giving huge bonuses to CEO's who make bad business decisions.

IT"S THE NUMBER ONE ECONOMIC CONCERN. AND IT'S BRILLIANT.
