Reporting from Washington - Ronald Reagan is honored by, among other things, an airport, a freeway, an aircraft carrier and -- ironically for a critic of big government -- one of the biggest federal buildings in Washington.

Proposal would put Ronald Reagan's face on the $50 bill - latimes.com

I've had lunch in the Reagan cafeteria. Wasn't too impressed. Across the street are some better restaurants.

Before putting his face on the $50 bill, I think they should wait until everyone who was alive during his term has died - say, around the year 2100. By that time, a rational decision will be able to be made about whether or not he deserves such an accolade.

I'd like to see Reagan's face on a $ 5 coin. Teddy Roosevelt on a $10 coin. Bring back a Lady Liberty on a $20 coin with an eagle on the obverse.
Dollar coins will continue to be a bust but higher denomination larger coins would be welcomed by consumers. The main reason we don't use them is that they are nigh impossible to counterfeit. Counterfeiting by institutions and governments is so rampant now we just pretend it isn't.

You never saw homeless all over America until the Reagan Administration pulled them out of mental institutions and put them on the street. Now that's a compassionate man...not !
