Now, I seem to remember a while ago about charges of abuse of power, shredding of rights and the constitution, violating individuals privacy........let's see where the MSM, the Left and the ACLU are on this whopper.

Details of “Einstein” Cyber Shield Disclosed by White House - Digits - WSJ

The Obama administration lifted the veil Tuesday on a highly-secretive set of policies to defend the U.S. from cyber attacks.

The current version of the program is widely seen as providing meager protection against attack, but a new version being built will be more robust–largely because it’s rooted in NSA technology. The program is designed to look for indicators of cyber attacks by digging into all Internet communications, including the contents of emails, according to the declassified summary.

I think that you and I can count on this happening to us since we do post lots of things against Obama and other progressives. Sure they want to do that but have they passed the law, yet?

I think it's just as wrong and appalling as it happening under the Bush administration, and whatever administration to come next.

E-mails are personal communication, and not of (any) governments concern.

...Ofcourse, we can just render the program useless by going over to encrypted mail, or lobby to have Hotmail/Gmail provide that. It's always fun to mess up expensive government "watchdog" software and systems.

Exactly. I dont mind. All they will find is that all my emails have been spammed with Viagra and "increase your Penis size" (I am a female) emails with the whole "You won 10000000 dollars. Please wire me 50000 to collect your prize" emails.

Please, point out where the Bush admin had a policy of reading the content of your emails. The obama administration is the one implementing the program, not Bush.

Many really thought that having the NSA copy phone calls from possible terrorists was the same thing as what the Obamas want to do with the internet.

First off I am against government spying on people.

However, this was going on under the Bush administration and you partisan hacks didn't care. "For the good of the country," and, "Its necessary to prevent terrorist attacks," you all said. Only when there is a president you don't like do you realize the consequences of Bush's war on terror domestic spying policies. Bush turned government into big brother and Obama his continuing to let Big Brother grow, but Bush made it all possible. If you hand't given Bush the power to spy on us we wouldn't be in the mess now. Where were all the teabaggers when Bush was creating his Stalinist domestic spying policies? We warned you, but you didn't listen. Now you see your folly, but its probably too late. You reap what you sow. What really amazes me is that some of you former Bush cheerleaders still don't realize this is his fault, and your own for it supporting it. I would bet that you would support this kind of thing if another Neocon was in office. You disgust me.

No, it wasn't. Under obama, it is being expanded.

Key words - being built, meaning not operational.
