What's the big deal. Kids go to prom in groups anyway. Heck, my daughter was asked (and went) to prom with a gay guy when she was a junior. No big deal. I don't see why they would feel the need to cancel anything. I would bet if put to a vote, the kids would opt to have prom.
It's just another example of a school going overboard. Punishing everyone for the deeds of a few.
Of course I see nothing wrong with same-sex couples attending the prom. I didn't attend my high schools prom but I know a few same-sex couples attended. It wasn't a big deal.

It is a school function therefore they have the right to cancel it if they want. No point in it being national news just another example of homosexuals trying to jam their disgusting lifestyle down everyones throat.

Certainly the school has the right to cancel anything they want, as proms are not a part of the school curriculum. However, as much as I don't like the gay agenda ramming thier views down everyone else's throat, I don't see the problem with gay kids (as long as they are students at the school) attending prom.
Kristians do run a good part of this country and insist their benighted vision of morality be enforced by the government. A decent, and in this case courageous, school board would have held the prom and welcomed the couple. Canceling the prom was the wrong thing to do because that was exactly what the social tyrants wanted.

Well obviously the school saw them as a problem and ended the problem. If the kids want a prom then they can throw one for themselves. The school did the correct thing.
