I've been hearing and reading that Congress absolutely has to pass Obamacare before they go home and face constituents in townhall meetings so they can't vote for the bill when they come back. You remember constituents. Those are the people they work for, not Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and Barack Obama. If Obamacare is so great and they represent the people back home, what are they so afraid of? Could it be that Obamacare is not so great, the big sell job still hasn't worked and they don't really represent their constituents but they're tools of the White House?
Grow a spine and do your job, you ninnies, or expect to pass another extension of unemployment compensation so you can collect. If you think that when you run for re-election in 2012, people will forget about it, you are so wrong.

Lol, that's not why they try to wrap stuff up before they go home.

Did you vote for the Democrats last time? I didn't think so. And you were not going to vote for them THIS time. On the other hand, I did vote for the Democrats last time and if they don't pass "Obamacare" I will not vote for them next time. So they cannot WIN you but they can LOSE me.
We have been fighting over this for a YEAR. It is time to vote and be done with it. I think it has a 51/49 chance of passing.
Nope. Gutierrez (and possibly other members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus) will change his vote to no because illegal immigrants aren't covered.

Of course, that isn't why Obama selected March 18 as the deadline, is it? Pelosi, lady, you know just what is going on here and Laura has stated it very well.
Why are they afraid? Because (for one or more of the reasons below)...
1. They are also sold out to corporate interests
2. They are ideologues and can't look beyond self.
3. They are scared of the stupid, the self-defeaters
4. They are wary of lies taking over sanity. It is always easier to polarize people based on lies and misrepresentations, and that makes it a more daunting task.
5. Change is not easy.
