Wow...is this the kind of coverage that you would prefer for yourself?

Cleveland Clinic offers personal guides to patients like Canfield who are concerned about payment to try to match them up with programs that can provide full or partial assistance. One option is state Medicaid coverage, which Canfield did not have when she was admitted. Another is charity care that is routinely provided by the hospital, which is a nonprofit. Cleveland Clinic reported providing $99 million in charity care in 2008.
For the time being, Canfield is probably the clinic's most famous patient.

Canfield gained national attention after Obama publicized a letter she wrote to the White House in February. In the letter, she detailed how skyrocketing premiums had forced her off her insurance.

The woman brought attention to herself. What might have happened if she did not? Can this hospital provide this so called charity for all Americans with these same problems? Do you think that there is a shortage of people with cancer that are not insured and getting the state of the art treatment that Obama could have chosen to use an example instead?

What exactly does partial assistance mean anyway? They treat you half way well? Who do you think is paying in the long run for Medicaid? I'm sure that this woman would rather have paid for herself, if she could have afforded it with AFFORDABLE PUBLIC OPTION INSURANCE.

So please keep your Liberal double speak to yourself.
You are right to be upset because the patient was denied care due to lack of insurance! I am sure you would have seen it if you had read it carefully. Here it is:

A nurse's note in Murray's records at 11:56 p.m. said Penn "refused to accept patient due to no medical insurance."
I think we all can agree in this thread that a person who needs medical care, deserves medical care regardless of ability to pay. Thanks for your support on this Kerrymac!

Conservatives are afraid. They're afraid of real-life stories about real people who have cancer. Conservatives know that private insurance companies have a history of denying coverage to sick people or jacking up their insurance premiums, but still, they would prefer to let the free market decide who gets health care coverage and who does not. It's shameful.

More demagoguery from obama in his quest to score political points.

I would suggest that anyone who thinks that Obama telling the story of Ms. Canfield falls flat is someone who most likely has ice water running through their veins, and very well may be soul-LESS, for example, the right wing fringe blogger cited above who wrote that disgusting blog calling the woman a prop.

And now we have someone passing out at an Obama rally of 200 (wow) hundred people.

Was that person a fraud? and was Obama part of it?

Obama needs to stop using people like he is.

Under his ways this lady would be too old to spend the money on.

Dont let the idiot fool you, if you have cancer and have a low chance of recovery Obama will make sure you do not waste money on the caring of you.

Remember what he said about the pain pills. Get sick, he WONT be allowing money to be wasted on you, he will make sure you get the pill to die comfortably.

This man could care less about you. Knowing this jerk he would have his thugs look into how you have voted in your lifetime and if you do not follow his way of thinking the idiot would pull the plug on you in a heartbeat.

Do not kid yourself, this government run HC you wont have any choices, they will be made for you.

All you have to do in look in Michelle Obamas background at her hospital she worked at to see that she found ways to turn away people in need. Now all of a sudden they care about these people? NOT

Her job was to make sure the Hospital made huge profits so she could get her nice profit sharing check.

Sunny-Days90.......just lies and lies and more lies. How do you get away with posting so many lies each day. There are no death panels in Obama's health care reform. However, private insurance companies won't hesitate to DENY payment for treatment you may need to save your life. We are not falling for delusional and paranoid posts about health care reform.
