Democrats are getting ever more desperate. So, they have started rolling out the children, implying that a few tragic stories should justify government taking over health care.
But at one of these sobfests, Dick Durbin (D-MI) reiterated a claim made by other Democrats when they want to expand govt into health care. He announced that 70 Americans die every day due to their lack of health insurance.
Hey, Dick, if that's true, then please explain why the DEMOCRAT bill provides virtually no health care benefits for four years after it passes? By your own numbers, that means the Democrats are letting more than 100,000 people die!
Mr. Durbin, what is your justification for deliberately killing a medium-sized town? Are you and your cohorts inflicting this mass death simply to save some money? Why does your bill not start full benefits immediately? What reason do you have, that justifies the 100,000 deaths that YOU have told us will happen?
Can you imaginne the media feeding frenzy if a Republican had made such a claim?
But it was a Democrat. So, the media is displaying no curiosity about where the "statistic" came from, no one asking "Turban" Durbin to justify the Democrats' four-year delay in doling out most benefits.

It is so sad that we Medicare people will get to see $50 billion taken from us each year before they start helping one person. Surely they could do something on that $50 billion per year for some of those people who Durbin talks about.
I wonder how many years they will have to hold off the next time around to get enough money "stashed" to support their single payer system. Whoops, I just accused them of something most progs here say they aren't working toward.
So it's better not to have any health care reform? You do realize that some of the changes will start right away?
Oh yes, Kat, some of the changes will start to take place right away. Like the killing of private insurance companies and a pronounced shortage of doctors even if none of them leave the country or just retire.

Oh, baloney. This whole plan requires people to have private insurance. It will bring the companies more business.
This crap about doctors leaving the profession is nonsense. None of the docs I work with have ever expressed any plans to do that.
It will eliminate the barring of people with pre-existing conditions right away, a very good thing, IMO.

Doctors have ALREADY started refusing new patients on medicare/medicaid.. What makes you think this will change when payments are cut another $500 BILLION?
That's like buying car insurance after an accident.
My daughter had melanom at age 14. Some insurances would bar her for life, for any condition, because of this. But oh, well, it was her responsibilty not to get cancer, in a place where the sun doesn't shine, mind you, wasn't it?

"Already"? This has been going on for years. Nothing new, just because Rush or Sean or someone just found out about it the other day. Note that nothing says doctors are leaving the profession; they're refusing certain patients.

Rush and Sean have NOTHING to do with this... so stop bringing them into the discussion as if you are adding somethign to the topic..
But I do note you havent respnded to my statement.. Do you think doctors will take on new patients with even LOWER payments?
