I wrote several long posts (what a surprise, huh?) a couple of weeks ago about the need for militias to form up in all States, NOT the whacko-type militias but real militias formed by citizens of cities, metro areas, and counties. They would be trained by experts from law enforcement and the military, would have regularly scheduled exercises, and on and on (I won’t bore you with the details).

The militias would be under the command of the State Governor and would be assigned tasks by directive of the Governor through the State Police. Police departments from cities and counties would request assistance when needed and the State Police would assign militia as needed who would then be directly supervised by the city or county. Anyway, it’s a long explanation.

Between this MS 13 dealie and other garbage coming down the line, and the terrorists coming over here so they don’t have to fight us over there, something along the lines of a militia is going to become absolutely necessary—in my humble opinion.

While I agree this is an issue of great concern, I think the solution lies in doing what is necessary to erode gang membership and identifying key members and appropriately prosecuting them.

I think the immigration issue is peripheral to the problem at this point in time. But the problem needs to be addressed from the angle of eroding the gang, and there are numerous ways to do this (identify root cause of membership and counteract it).

Ok, and what about the things that can't be erode? Like some of the Russians' coming over belonging with fake citizenship and they belong to the mafia(Russian government). How can you fight something that is trained to kill using their hands and other weapons?

This gang is very dangerous and has spread to pretty much everywhere in the United States that illegal aliens are. In fact they have already caused much more damage to this country than al queda has. Our government just doesn't want it to be known. In fact, many if not most of these MS-13 gang members will be legalized if Bush's Illegal Alien Amnesty proposal becomes law.
What do you mean Bush's bill....Ted Kennedy wrote it........

Bush has been the driving force behind the amnesty from the first day he was in office. The only reason it's been on the back burner until now was 9 - 11.

In fact, if it wasn't for Bush this travesty wouldn't even be sitting in the Senate waiting for another vote.

I agree 100% Hawkeye.

A couple of years ago when I saw Bush, standing next to Vincente Fox declaring at a news conference that law abiding property owners, who just wanted to protect themselves and their land by letting authorities know of the illegal border crossings, were nothing more than vigilantes I was through with him and his ilk. George Bush, Ted Kennedy, John McCain - what's the difference?

With all due respect NewToCa, when convicted and unprosecuted criminals are deported and come back over the border again and again, this makes the issue a little more than "peripheral". One way to erode the gang in this country is to keep deported gang members deported.

32 million are not the number of illegals. You just want EVERY hispanic to go. And not every hispanic hates America. We love it here(my family). So perhaps the 12 million need to leave which the majority happens to be hispanic. But there are also E E and asians.

I believe you are confusing illegal mexicans with those that came here legally. I have many fine mexican friends that I will always be friends with and are fine families BUT they came here legally, totally assimilated and are 100% all American. You would never see them fly a Mexican Flag and they learned to speak english.
