Many issues could be avoided completely if everyone had better manners.
And that's where my lamentations come in. The overall coarseness, rudeness and lack of civility of our society is disgraceful. The fact that so many people think nothing of this is truly disheartening. Selfishness is king of the land.
I was working in the Columbus Convention Center and this 19 or 20 year old is walking around with his buddy and in big print his t-shirt says, "F#*%K This PLACE, I'M GOING HOME TO MASTURBATE. " (By,the way, the f word was not blanked out, it was there in all of it's glory)
Well, at least the shirt said masturbate instead of jerk off.
What on earth are you ranting about "rights, socialists"? So, you say that all liberals think that it's okay for some to walk around in public in front of little kids with a t-shirt that has the F word in big print and then talks about masturbating? So, in other words, the hell with anyone elses, as long as you like it, that's all that matters right? No consideration for others, no regard for other peoples sensitivities, as long as it feels good, that's all that matters, huh?
I have to agree that it is in very poor taste. Just as I would not watch an x-rated movie with one of my parents present, I would feel very uncomfortable running into this guy while I was shopping with them as well. Freedom of speech does not equate to pushing vulgarity in another's face. Why would anyone give a damn about this kid's autoeroticism preferences. Should women in malls announce it on the P.A. system when they are menstruating? Unless your a kid on Spring Break in Cancun, freedom of speech liberties really should have a more message worthy agenda. If his parents condone this, I think that they are crude and ignorant as well.

I am probably considered leftist in most of my opinions- and I agree that this issue isn't that important on the surface-and I don't think it should be illegal to go out in public with a shirt like that on- but I feel it is pretty immature, and shows a real lack of taste for someone to wear a shirt like that to a Convention Center where it might offend someone or be seen by little kids-I think it would be within the rights of the operators of the Convention Center to throw the bum out- I think that most responsible parents try to keep their kids from using obscenities when they are growing up, why should some twenty something proclaim obscenities across their chests as they walk around in public? individual freedoms and rights have limitations within societies- you cant walk around naked for instance-it is more of a matter of good taste in my opinion- most people today seem to lack good taste or judgement when it comes to public interactions- t-shirts have become sort of personal billboards to express opinions to the world- but there is such a thing as being responsible and considerate to others around you-especially to children who everyone seem to complain are growing up to fast these days with all of the exposure to violence and sexuality that they are exposed to on a daily basis- why not just use some common sense when going out in public- where are manners these days?
Thank you. You're the only liberal in this thread that finds that shirt offensive as well. This should not be a political issue, this should be a civility, decency and humanity issue. It saddens and angers me that so many think that there's nothing wrong with this shirt, especially with so many little children running around. Who raised these people?
It’s a sign of the times. Decency and respect are obsolete. I am thankful my 18 y/o son would NEVER even contemplate wearing anything so crude. Wear what you want in the privacy of your home, but when in public at least have some consideration for others. I saw an equally repugnant t-shirt worn by a young woman who appeared to be in her 20’s, which read: Eat Me, Suck Me, F&%k Me. I’m sorry, but freedom of expression has gone too far.

I know we don't agree about much, if anything, politically, but thank you for your honest objectivity. Rep point to you. This shouldn't be about politics, but sadly only you and ceece were the only lefties to find this wrong, while the rest attacked me. lol It's rude, crass and down right selfish to walk around with garbage like that on your t-shirt. Glad we can agree on that.

Good job, this is very encouraging that conservatives and liberals can agree on this. Rep to you as well.

Aside from being tasteless and crude, it takes the mystery out of sex. Without the mystique, it's just an ordinary bodily function.

Are you kidding me? Were their young kids around? What a pig!
Who raised her, crackheads and prostitutes? Did you say anything?

It was at a hospital.
