We elected him? The "We" that elected him and certainly the we that listened to him during the campaign are getting pretty much what we voted for, thank you very much.

I believe that all society is organic. After all we are organic beings and we control our culture. Therefore, as with anything organic there is a growth period, there is an apex and there is a decline and ultimately death on some level. You cannot get away from it. Our society is in decline and most probably will ultimately die, it is a natural cycle. You can't fix it, and you can't stop it.

Sandy,

Save your nutter posts for somebody else. You and I both know that you just don't have the background to even understand your own arguments much less defend them.

more wars/aggression/sanctions
higher unemployment
wall street bonuses

because i don't think anybody wanted that.

or this, which i just read today-where our afghanistan "retraining" has become a 6 billion dollar fiasco:http://www.newsweek.com/id/235221?fr...m_medium=feed&

Funny they still won't admit this is a depression, even though real unemployment is at nearly 20%

The start was when we decided that we were the Masters of the Universe after WWII.

Globalization Is Killing The Globe: Return to Local Economies

From the days of Adam Smith, classical economics pointed out that manufacturing and extraction are the only two ways to "create wealth."

"Wealth" is different from "income." Wealth is value, which endures at least for some time. Income is simply compensation for work. If you wash my car for $10 and I mow your lawn for $10, we have a GDP of $20 and it looks like we both have income and economic activity. But no wealth has been created, just income.
